By customizing the Harmonet Archive Database, you will enable the Order By, Time Zone, and Date Field popup menus to be automatically set every time you use the database. You will also enable the database to keep track of the last day of messages you read, so that you can choose "Last Day Read" from the QuickView menu to continue where you left off. After you enter your customization, your preferences will be stored in the database and a persistent cookie will be set in your Browser. (Your browser must be capable of storing cookies in order for the customization to work.) Any time you come to the archive your preferences will automatically be retrieved from the database. If for some reason your browser loses your cookie, or you would like have it set in a browser on another computer, you can reset your cookie from the database.
If you've already customized the Harmonet Archive Database and would like to store your cookie in your browser, enter your User ID and password and click the "Reset Cookie" button. If you have not customized the Harmonet Archive Database before, you'll need to choose a unique User ID. The simplest thing to use is your first and last name. If someone else with your name has already set a customization you will be informed of this and you will have to choose another User ID. Be sure to choose a password that you will be able to remember but which will be difficult for someone to guess. Then fill in the rest of the information and click the "Customize" button.
Note: User IDs and passwords are case sensitive. so the way you type it in the first time, is the way you have to type it in whenever you want to make a change or reset your cookie. Your "First Name" is also case sensitive.
